Last November we had the pleasure of hosting Brian Croft for a special Equip event at the Nocatee campus of First Baptist Church Jacksonville. Brian is the Founder and Executive Director of Practical Shepherding, Inc. He is also Senior Fellow for the Mathena Center for Church Revitalization and an Adjunct Professor at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. “Practical Shepherding is a Gospel-Driven resource center for pastors and church leaders equipping them in the essential, yet often overlooked, practical matters of pastoral ministry.”
The Practical Shepherding event was a great two-day equipping and encouraging event for pastors and ministry leaders that were able to attend. SESSION 1 – Perseverance: Brian shares his personal church story with a call to stay and persevere when ministry is hard.
SESSION 2 – JimBo Stewart facilitates a Q&A Session where Brian discusses questions from the audience.
SESSION 3 – Priority: Brian discusses the priority of the pastor to personally care for his own soul as he faces hard ministry and how to do it.
SESSION 4 – Preaching: Brian gives practical help and encouragement for pastors enduring through hostility and apathy towards their preaching ministry.
SESSION 5 – Personal: Bob Bumgarner facilitates a Q&A session with Brian Croft and three local pastors: Tim Maynard (Fruit Cove), Donald Lewis (Love Gave), and Albert Byrd (Holiday Hill).
